ABOUT MGA TMA
Over many years The Timber Merchants Association (VIC) on behalf of its timber and hardware members, has been involved at all levels of government, with many industry issues and matters of concern including; inadequate timber supply, the promotion of timber, workplace relations and employment law to name a few.
In June 2017, TMA members voted to approve integration of the TMA with another industry organisation, MGA Independent Retailers. The Board of Directors for both TMA and MGA, comprising independent business operators, quickly agreed that both organisations were closely aligned to the values of exclusively representing, supporting and protecting family enterprises and privately-owned businesses.
The positive outcome of integrating the two organisations for TMA members is demonstrable with the support service synergies and savings resulting in more resources to benefit members.
As a national registered employer organisation, MGA TMA’s primary role is to support its employers members with vital “back of house” areas of business that members may not have time, money or resources to focus on. MGA TMA (Timber Merchants Australia) is a distinct function within the MGA organisation.
MGA TMA Committee comprises timber and hardware business owners who have many years of experience in the timber industry which is essential in developing sound industry positions and policies.
MGA TMA's professionally trained team strives to "make life easier" for its members by assisting in the areas of employment law, legal and HR, industry training and compliance, industry representation and an offering of member benefits such as insurance and energy services!
